Who are the IHS Falcon Band Boosters?

IHS Falcon Band Boosters are parents, faculty, and members of the community that are dedicated to providing support to the instrumental music programs at Independence High School.   We help Mr. Myers and our students create, produce, and perform the best possible marching, concert, percussion, and color guard programs.

​To become an active IHS Band, Colorguard and Orchestra Boosters Member just download, print, and turn in your completed form to the Treasurer or Mr. Myers at the next Booster meeting!

What exactly is a Band Booster?

A "Band Booster" is a parent, guardian, and/or family member to any student in the IHS Band, Color Guard and Orchestra.  Family members and friends are encouraged to volunteer and become involved however they would like!  Please attend our next general booster meeting to see what we do and join in on the fun!

When do we meet?

Our meetings are held on the second Monday of every month in the band room at Independence High School.  Please check the calendar for meeting times and updated info!

What do we do?

The students & staff always need a helping hand!  We have a variety of committees you could join.  Here are some ways you would help our students:

  • Prop building for competitions
  • Make meals for the students
  • Work in the Tater Shack at Football games
  • Driving trailers to competitions
  • Uniform fitting
  • Chaperoning on bus rides
  • Helping the Pit Crew (Transports equipment)
  • "FUN"draising!
  • And a host of other things!
